Installing the Bottom-Support Rails on the Rack
To attach the bottom-support rails to a four-post EIA rack, follow these steps:
Step 1 Position one of the two adjustable bottom-support rails at the lowest possible RU as shown in Figure 3-1.
Adjust the length of the rail so that it stretches from the outer edges of the front and rear vertical
mounting rails. You can expand the rail so that its mounting brackets are spaced between 24 to 32
inches
(61.0 to 81.3
cm).
Note Make sure that the two bottom-support rails are level with one another. If they are not level, adjust the
higher rail down to the level of the lower rail.
